Who we are

Our Story

I was born and raised in Ethiopia, my homeland to which I am bound eternally, culturally and emotionally.
I have been living between Belgium and Holland for 12 years now, here I have forged my being a woman, my personality and built my family.

My passion? to convey and make known the culture and the tradition of my motherland Ethiopia, in Belgium, a country that has become my home, my refuge in short my second home.

Our Journey

The Coffee ceremony

Ethiopia’s coffee ceremony is an integral part of their social and cultural life. An invitation to attend a coffee ceremony is considered a mark of friendship or respect and is an excellent example of Ethiopian hospitality. 

The ceremony is usually conducted by a woman, dressed in the traditional Ethiopian costume of a white dress with coloured woven borders. 

The roasting of the coffee beans is done in a flat pan over a tiny charcoal stove, the pungent smell mingling with the heady scent of incense that is always burned during the ceremony.
